When embarking on a new challenge, or trying to perform certain tasks consistently and with utmost dedication then having positive support systems in place can be a significant aspect of what you’re trying to achieve, no matter what level of health and fitness you may already be at or what state your mind is in. Having people around you that can support you through your challenges can determine your level of success.
On the other end of the scale, having people around you that try to sabotage your efforts can be a real nightmare and test of your courage, will power and patience – it can also put a real strain on your relationships with these people, which is never nice.
The best thing you can do here is to speak to the people around you and explain what you’re trying to do and ask for their support – make yourself very clear about what you would like them to do for you. You’re not asking for much, just a little understanding and support.
Most of the time people will comply and help out as much as they can, but every now and again there will always be that one person who criticizes you and questions what you’re doing – the chances are they’re jealous that you have the ambition and drive to do something they would really like to do but they do not have the get up and go like you do – you can take strength from that. Maybe you could even help this person if they exist in your life.
Ignore the negative comments people might make and don’t let anybody stand in your way of success.
Sometimes people often do not come on board with your ambition to change until they actually see your changes happen, until the positive changes to your body become visible – people often don’t support an idea, but will be totally sold on it when you have made it happen to some degree.
Don’t let anybody hold you back, and if people try there is always a good chance they’re not doing it on purpose.
